See all Things to DoWhere the Pacific Comes Ashore
The boardwalk runs along the edge of the Westport marina, which is the reason the town exists. Charter offices, fish markets, chowder windows and gift shops line one side; on the other, the boats. Mornings are for departures, when the charter fleet idles out toward the bar in a line. Afternoons are the better show — boats coming back in, crews cleaning fish at the stations, and whoever is on the dock watching the count. Sea lions haul out on the floats and argue about it. It is a short, flat walk and it connects most of what visitors come to Westport for. The observation tower is at one end, so the usual loop is boardwalk out, tower up, back along the water.
