Running a business on the South Beach means paperwork from the state, permits from the city, and — for anyone working the water — a license from Fish & Wildlife. Licensing & permits
Register with the state, then check city permits. Charter and fishing operations also license through WDFW; hiring staff or contracting brings in L&I. Anyone who serves alcohol on-site needs a MAST permit, and anyone who handles food needs a food worker card.
Business support
The Port of Grays Harbor runs the Westport Marina — for waterfront businesses it's usually the first call. Commerce and the SBA cover counseling, training and disaster help.
Grants & funding
Lodging-tax (LTAC) tourism grants from Grays Harbor County, Pacific County and the City of Westport fund local promotion projects every year — ask the Chamber about the next application round. State and federal programs cover the rest.
