The Grange hall on Highway 105
The Grange is a farming organization that goes back to the 1860s, and for a century its halls were the civic center of rural America — meeting room, dance floor, polling place and wedding venue in one building. Most are gone. This one is not. North Willapa Harbor Grange 947 sits on Highway 105 in Grayland, in the middle of the cranberry country its members farm. It still holds its regular meetings, and the hall is still rented out for dances, celebrations and community events. There is nothing to tour. It is on this list because a working Grange hall is now a rarer thing to drive past than most of the scenery around it.
