See all Things to DoThe put-in for the south harbor
The Johns River launch is the water access for the south edge of Grays Harbor, about ten miles south of Aberdeen, reached from Highway 105 by way of Game Farm Road. There is a ramp, a boat loading platform, a parking lot with two ADA stalls and a restroom. From here the river runs down into the harbor's tide flats. Anglers come for sea-run and resident cutthroat, rainbow trout, whitefish and several runs of salmon. In waterfowl season, hunters use it to reach the tidelands around Markham Island. Watch the tide. The lower river drains hard on an outgoing tide, and the flats it uncovers put a long walk between you and deep water.
