Overview

The Westport-Grayland Chamber of Commerce ("we," "us," or "the Chamber") operates this website to promote local businesses, share events, and help visitors plan their trip to the South Beach. This policy explains what information we collect on this site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Information we collect

Information you provide. We only receive personal information when you choose to give it to us — for example:

• Your name, email, and message if you send us a note through our contact form.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting servers keep standard logs (such as your browser type and the pages you visit), and we may use privacy-respecting website analytics to understand which pages are useful. This information is used in aggregate and is not used to personally identify you.

How we use your information

• To respond to your questions and feedback.
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
• To promote our member businesses and the events of the South Beach communities.

Cookies & analytics

This site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to work, and — where enabled — analytics to measure general site usage. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. If we introduce non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first.

First-party analytics. We count how the site is used with our own measurement system on the Chamber's own server. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and never records your IP address or any identifier. What it keeps is daily totals: how many times a page or a member's listing was viewed, and — so we can tell what visitors came here looking for — the words typed into the search box. Search words are kept only as a daily count of the words themselves, with nothing attached that could connect them to you or to anything else you did on the site. Anything that looks like an email address, phone number, ZIP code or street address is discarded before it is counted, and the words are deleted after about a year. Those totals stay on our server and are not shared or sold. If we ever add third-party analytics such as Google Analytics, it will be optional and we will ask for your consent first, as promised above.

Third-party services

Some features rely on trusted third-party services, which may receive your IP address or device information under their own privacy policies:

• Google Fonts — to display the site's typography.
• Google Translate — only if you choose the Spanish (ES) toggle in the top bar, page content is sent to Google for translation.
• Map providers — the interactive map loads map tiles from an open mapping service.
• Social media — links to our Facebook and Instagram pages open on those platforms.

We do not control how these third parties handle your data; please review their policies for details.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with service providers who help us operate the site (for example, our website host or analytics provider), or when required by law.

Data retention

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose you gave it — for example, until you ask us to remove your details.

Your choices

• You can contact us to ask what information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it.

Children's privacy

This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Our site links to member businesses and community resources we don't operate. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
