Services

Station Grays Harbor sits at the mouth of the harbor in Westport. The Coast Guard has been stationed here since 1915, and the U.S. Life-Saving Service was working this coast from the 1890s before that. The station's water is the Grays Harbor bar, where the harbor meets the open Pacific and conditions can turn in minutes. Every charter boat and fishing vessel out of Westport crosses it twice a day. In 2019 Westport was named the 28th Coast Guard City USA and the first in Washington, recognizing how tightly the town and the service are tied together.
