For every visitor

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to plan a South Beach visit — regardless of ability or technology.

Our commitment

The Westport-Grayland Chamber of Commerce is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including visitors who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, captions, or magnification. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What we've built in

  • Semantic page structure (headings, landmarks, lists) so screen readers can navigate by section.
  • Text alternatives on informative images, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
  • Keyboard-reachable navigation, forms, and interactive features.
  • Color choices checked for contrast, and information never conveyed by color alone (for example, chamber events are marked with a star, not just a color).
  • Responsive layout that supports zoom up to 200% and works on mobile devices.
  • A printable event calendar designed to stay legible in black & white.

Known limitations

  • Some member-submitted photos may lack detailed descriptions; we improve these as we work through the directory.
  • The interactive area map is visual by nature — the same member information is available in the accessible business directory list.
  • Older documents linked from the site (PDFs and similar) may not be fully accessible; contact us and we'll gladly provide the information another way.

Something not working for you?

Please tell us — it genuinely helps. Contact the Chamber office and we'll fix the issue or provide the content in a format that works for you:
